GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS 2006-07
AN APPEAL
M.E.S COLLEGE OF Arts, Commerce and Science, one of the premier
institutions of higher learning in the northern part of Bangalore was
founded by a group of enlightened citizens of Malleswaram to provide
education to students in that area. They are Late.Prof.M.P.L.Sastry, a
statesman and educationist, Late.G.A.Acharya, a well known industrialist
and philanthropist, Late.M.Chinnaswamy and eminent advocate, Late
Prof.B.R.Subba Rao a pioneer in providing collegiate education, Late
M.R.Narasimha Iyengar an active citizen and corporator and Smt.Vimala
Rangachar, currently the Vice President of Mysore Education Society.
The College was founded in 1956 with 68 students on roll-13 for Arts and
55 for Commerce. From this humble beginning it has now grown into a full
fledged college with student strength of over 3000 in Pre-University,
Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate studies. It has now become a household
name which imparts quality education at affordable fees to all sections
of society. Inspite of the growing cost of education, challenges and
pressures, the college is neither collecting high fees nor has become a
commercial center. The college has preserved its rich tradition and
unique cultural heritage.
The glowing success of the college has been made possible through the
relentless efforts of our alumni, present students, parents and public
who have always stood by us in all our curricular and co-curricular
activities.
The college is proud of the students who have passed through the portals
of our Institution with flying colours and many of them occupying top
positions in different walks of life.
This academic Year 2006-07 is the "GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR'.
The college and the management have decided to celebrate it in a grand
manner through out the year by organizing Academic and cultural
programmes for the students.
To commemorate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations, it is proposed to bring
out a souvenir with interesting articles on education and cultural
values.
For the smooth conduct of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations, the
Management and College has set up a "GOLDEN JUBILEE FUND'
It is our earnest desire that alumini, present students, parents and
public be actively associated with us for the celebrations and
contribute generously for the Golden Jubilee fund and thus make the
celebrations a grand success.
Contributions may be kindly sent in the form of Cheques/Drafts drawm in
favour of "M.E.S College Golden Jubilee Celebrations a/c."

Golden Jubilee Celebrations
of the College 2006-07
Year
long Golden Jubilee Celebrations was inaugurated by His Excellency
Sri. T.N. Chaturvedi, Governor of Karnataka on 29th
September 2006.
The celebrations include Cultural, Science, Sports
and other extra curricular activities besides seminars, workshops, etc.
As a
part of this a souvenir with articles on, the institution, Education etc
will be brought out. Articles from the Alumni are welcome.
